It Was Fun While She Was Here

Downerbythemeadow was officially part of the Canterbury Racing Club ownership group for just 14 days (May 25-June 8) and one race. A second place finish was solid, but the experience was fun.

I had the opportunity to enter the stable area on raceday (June 8) and had brought a daughter of a friend. She LOVED it! A chance to witness up close (about 10 feet) the warmup walk in the paddock was something she and I will not soon forget.

Unfortunately for the owners group, Downerbythemeadow was claimed on that night. The horse seems like a perfect fit for the Canterbury Park racebook and I expect the filly to do well for the remainder of her career here.

I'm sure the group will acquire another horse soon. I am looking forward to the experience again!
